What is the
CBC?
The Community Building Competition a.k.a
CBC is just what the name suggests. This is where you build a
community on anything at all, ranging from Particle Physics, to
Bollywood Gossip, to Cricket anecdotes, to the Stock Market, to
Comics and so on!
Put simply, this is what you
do:
1. Sign up at
LearnHub
2. Check the CBC Announcements Page and register
for the CBC
3. Make your Community - add
content/lessons/videos and add the extra flavour by bringing in
trivia questions
4. Invite your Friends to your
community
5. Schedule various events,
discussions and debates
..... And who knows, you could
walk away with a prize!
Who is organizing
the CBC?
Antaragni '08 - IIT Kanpur's
Annual Inter Collegiate Cultural Festival and LearnHub are
organizing the CBC.
Who can
participate in the CBC?
Only participants from India are eligible for
the CBC.
What are the prizes for
CBC?
The leader of the best community gets a sum of INR 50,000. We are also giving out iPod shuffles for best courses, lessons, debates/discussions, tests, trivia and most members.
Who is judging the event?
The CBC will be judged by a panel of LearnHub community leaders. For more details, please visit the page on CBC Judging Criteria.
Why should I join the CBC
community?
Participants will get information by means of messages sent through the community. In case you don't join the CBC community, you will not have access to the information/updates.
What is the last
date for registering for the CBC?
Their is no
last date for registering for the CBC, so you can join anytime
before the end date. CBC has been extended by 10 days now it ends
on 06 February
2009.
When does the CBC
start?
Started on
the 26th of October (2008) - the
last day of Antaragni 2008. But you can
still register.
How long does the
CBC run?
The CBC is
scheduled to run for 3 months.
How do I know how
I am doing?
Weekly/bi-weekly stats will be available. They will help you
determine how your community is performing w.r.t the others.
I am currently
leading a community on LearnHub. Can I enter CBC with
it?
No. Your
community for the CBC should be a new one. You should launch the
community on the day the CBC starts.
Is there a specific team
size?
No.
However, the prize will remain the same - i.e., the prize will be
given to the user who leads the community. In case there are
multiple leaders, the prize will be split.
Where do I get my
queries answered?
You can
post your queries in an appropriate discussion page in the CBC
community. In case there is no such page, feel free to create a
discussion. Also, you can mark an email to cbc@learnhub.com. For specific
queries regarding creating content, etc, please visit LearnHub
